11 months

The biggest thing this month is that Kaitlin has started walking. Actually now she's trying to run. Each morning I look at her and I can't believe how big she has gotten. And this time next year, I'll have an almost 2 year old PLUS a 6 month old. Wow times have changed.

I couldn't decide on what pictures to post so I posted quite a few.

Here's a quick video showing how well she's walking.
SLEEP:
No real changes in sleep this month. She is still taking 2 naps per day.

FOOD:
Kaitlin has boycotted any food given to her on a spoon. She prefers to self feed with finger foods. We have started giving her foods we eat such as homemade mac & cheese and Greek potatoes/chicken. Kaitlin is still taking four 6-oz bottles per day. I started to sometimes give her a sippy cup with her morning/afternoon formula and also giving her a small snack.

CLOTHING:
She’s wearing size 9 and 12 months clothes. We are finishing the size 2/3 diapers and will move to size 3’s shortly.

MILESTONES:
- Third tooth came through. Fourth is not far behind (both on top)
- Walks around great and has even started trying to run
- Started to throw fits and will lay on the ground crying (not fun)
- Started to dance (bounce) to music
- Makes funny noises with her mouth and she thinks it’s funny (I can't seem to get this on video)
- She also started to have “conversations” with herself making new words/sounds
- Opens the kitchen cabinet and plays with her bottles, cups, bibs
- Has started to understand and follow simple directions (i.e. let's go see daddy)

laser fun & giggles

Bryan had fun playing with his new laser pointer. Kaitlin, Scuba and Skyla had fun too.

new shirt

Kaitlin wanted to show off her new shirt ;-)
Yes Kaitlin is going to be a big sister come March 28th (ish). This baby will be a surprise since Bryan let me find out with Kaitlin. Below are some outtakes from trying to get the picture above. Kaitlin was super crabby/clingy this morning and shed lots of tears (if you couldn't tell from the big wet spot on her shirt. ;-)

I was able to bribe her with my phone but then you couldn't read the shirt.

Look at her big tears. She really wanted my phone or the camera. :-(

Here's a video of her going for the camera. Am I a mean mom for laughing at her?

funny banana

This was the first time Kaitlin took a bite off the banana (rather than me cutting it in little chunks) and she thought it was hilarious.

walking around

I tried to get Kaitlin on video walking around. It's hard to get a good video of Kaitlin since every single time I take out the video camera she is obsessed with it (as you can see from the video posted below). She's able to take up to 8-9 steps at a time on her own. But she doesn't quite have the confidence so she'll squat down and crawl. Any day she will be running around.

all dressed up

Labor day weekend the three of us got all dressed up and headed to Oak Park for Jen & Matt's wedding. We got lots of complements on how cute Kaitlin's dress was. She didn't nap well that afternoon (45 mins in the car on our way to the ceremony). Needless to say we (Kaitlin and I) missed the entire ceremony and explored the church grounds. I met a few other parents doing the same. :-)

We didn't get to stay long at the reception since Kaitlin was crabby and we didn't even have a chance to take any photos with the bride/groom. I know the wedding photographer got some cute shots of Kaitlin. So we'll have to see if we can get our hands on those.
