three months old

We can't believe it has already been three months. Some of Kaitlin's milestones this past month:

- Bringing her hands together
- Following objects well
- Rolled over from her tummy to back
- Laughed for the first time on 1/27
- Good head/neck control
- Drooling...and lots of it (see the last picture below)

And the last few nights she has only been waking up once to eat! We hope that continues. Ruth, our nanny, thinks that Kaitlin might be on the verge of teething already! I think we still have some time but got a few supplies to have on hand for when she does start.

She's almost ready to start sitting in her bumbo seat without any help. And I think next month we will be ready for her excersaucer!

Here are a few photos...

it's nanny time

We are doing a nanny share with Megan & Jason who live in our building and their son Will is about 6 weeks older than Kaitlin. Our nanny, Ruth, started on Tuesday. I was still off work on Tuesday & Wednesday but I left Kaitlin with Ruth for 4-5 hours each day as a test run for both Kaitlin and myself. Our biggest concern was Kaitlin not eating from a bottle very well.

Then yesterday was my first day of work since October 28th! The hardest part was dropping Kaitlin off at Will's in the morning. And Kaitlin has been doing pretty well with eating out of a bottle for Ruth (a little fussy but still eating).

Here's a picture of Kaitlin and me right before heading down to Will's this morning.

rolling over

Yesterday Bryan and I put Kaitlin on her mat for tummy time and she immediately rolled over. We looked at each other and thought it was a fluke. She did it two more times.

So this morning I decided I was going to try to catch her doing it with our camera. I set her down on her tummy and before I could grab the camera she had rolled over! I got her to do it again this time I was able to grab the camera.

weekend in iowa

Last Friday (1/15), Kaitlin and I headed to Iowa for the weekend without Bryan. I had my friend Breanne's baby shower that Saturday. I was pretty nervous that Kaitlin would cry most of the way since she did that the last time Bryan and I drove to Iowa. I tried to time hitting the road when I thought Kaitlin was ready for her nap. It worked...both ways. She only fussed a bit when we hit some traffic in the suburbs but passed out for the remainder of the ride.

Here's all the girls at Breanne's shower...we even had a paper
Molly (who couldn't make it back for the shower).

Kaitlin loves sitting up like a big girl. She still

needs a little help with the pillow next to her.

Kaitlin has started drooling a lot. You can sort

of see that in this picture. She also loves

playing with all the toys on her mat.

There's that glow worm she loves!

fun with friends

Kaitlin had a play date with her friend Sean last week. Here they are sitting like big kids on the couch.

They both loved Kaitlin's glow worm she got for Christmas.

professional photos

I almost forgot to post pictures from our photoshoot that we had the week of Thanksgiving. I was waiting to send out our holiday cards before posting. Ooops. I guess better late then never. We had these photos taken by our wedding photographer (Photography by Lin). These were just a few of our favorites.

tummy time

This week Kaitlin has really gotten into tummy time. I guess it is a lot more fun when you can actually hold your head up.

big kid toys

This weekend Kaitlin and I went to visit Aunt Kelly and cousin Gavin up in Racine, WI. We had an eventful drive on our way up. Once we were on the interstate, I realized my windshield wiper fluid wasn't working. I had to pull over twice to clean the windsheild at a gas station. I come to find out later the line was frozen. I think we need to move some place warm. :-)

While we were at their house, Kaitlin got to sit in a "big kid" chair. She really enjoyed it. Gavin also enjoyed letting Kaitlin sit in his doll stroller. We didn't let him push her around in it though. She was a little too wobbly but again she liked sitting in it.

kaitlin holding her first rattle

I think the title of this post says it all.

go hawkeyes!

Kaitlin and Bryan were all geared up to cheer on the Hawks in the Orange Bowl on 1/5. Thanks to Aunt Elesha for her cute Hawkeye sleeper and socks. We can't wait until she's big enough to fit into the Hawkeye cheerleading outfits that were givin to us from Greg & Shannon!

happy baby

Here's a video of Kaitlin "playing" with her favorite toy. She got a glow worm for Christmas and she absolutely loves that toy. It will calm her down in mid-cry even.

playing around with the camera...

...is so much more fun when you've got such a cute subject!

two months old

Time sure does fly by! At her two month doctor appointment Kaitlin weighed 9 lbs 11 oz (22nd percentile) and was 24" long (95th percentile).

Over this past month she has been "talking" more, she's interested in some of her toys (she loves the glow worm she got for Christmas) and she likes to entertain herself on her playmat.
